Seattle area has some terrific fly fishing opportunities. Visit Seattle and see for yourself. While you’re in town, contact Capt Bill @ Peninsula Outfitters Fly Shop to charter an epic fly fishing adventure. Capt Bill operates a 21′ custom Boston Whaler Dauntless center console boat, designed for fly fishing. For over 15 years, Capt. Bill has personally guided professional fly fishing adventures in the Pacific Northwest. He has shown countless fly anglers the beauty and abundance of our local marine environment, and educated those anglers about the rare and exciting opportunity to catch wild, native trout in the salt water. Join Captain Bill Drewry (USCG #2804606), on a half day guided fly fishing charter just minutes from downtown Seattle. Our operation is based in Kitsap County. The prime fly fishing waters on the west side of Puget Sound or the Hood Canal are in our backyard!
The Coastal Cutthroat trout (Oncorhynchus clarki clarki) also known as the Sea Run Cutthroat, or Harvest Trout, is a subspecies of Cutthroat trout, native to our local waters, and our target species. This fish has an anadromous (lives in both fresh and salt water) life history. Generally speaking, Coastal Cutthroat will remain in or near estuarine waters, which make them a unique and exciting inshore species for the fly angler. The visual aspect of trout fishing in the salt water with streamers is a unique and special treat for the avid fly angler with a 5wt or 6wt rod. Thanks to Washington States “catch and release only” regulations in salt water, this indigenous, wild, native species, has made a fantastic come back! The average size of these fish are 12″ – 18″, but we have landed a number of fish in excess of 20″!
